Established in 1965.
The Forrester School of Celtic Dance is located in Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, in eastern Canada.
It was the first of its kind in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and was
established in 1965 under the direction of Eileen (Pottie) Forrester.
The school is owned by Eileen Forrester and is currently under the direction of Eileen and daughter, Shannon Forrester. Shannon is also a member and performer with the Forrester Dance Company.
The school has branches throughout the industrial Cape Breton area as well as in Ontario, under the direction of Eileen's two other daughters, Shara and Shendle Forrester.
Classes are offered to Children ages 4 1/2 & over and adults in a variety of disciplines and settings.

Each year, the students take dance examinations regulated by the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance of Scotland, a non-competitive program the school has endorsed for over 40 years. Mrs. Forrester has trained over 50 teachers of dance, some of whom are now operating their own schools of dance locally & beyond.
